We have established that today’s earthquake occured in Iran at 2:44 pm and was 7.8 on the richter scale meaning that there was the strong possibility of aftershocks and the potential for further structural damage. Although we felt very little vibration in the school, we heard that the impact was stronger in parts of Sohar such as Palm Gardens and decided to consult with experts. They informed us of the likelihood of aftershocks and so we decided not to take any risks and evacuated the school and ended after school activities. We have also cancelled tonight’s football training in our Sports Hall as a safety precaution.
