As we approach the end of the school year, we start to think about the next one. And I wanted to inform you of staffing changes that will be occurring over the summer.

Lala and Ola Akerstrom have decided to leave us at the end of this year to return to Sweden. They have been an important part of our school community and we will really miss them. Marian Kneepkens has also decided to move on at the end of this year. She, too, will be greatly missed.

We, of course, wish them well and we will be saying goodbye properly later in the year.

I have been busily looking for the very best teacher I can find to fill some very large boots being left behind. I am happy to say that we have been lucky to find some really great people to join our team in August.

Let me tell you a little about them…

Amy Camp will be coming to us as the new Music Teacher. Amy is American and is an accomplished musician with experience with working with students of all ages. She is currently working in China and before that at the Dubai American Academy.

Inayath Mohamed will be joining our Primary School team next year. He was born in Sri Lanka, studied in New Zealand and is a Canadian citizen who has a great deal of experience working in PYP schools. He is currently working at a PYP school in Singapore. He will be coming with his wife and their young child.

Sometime good things just turn up on the doorstep! Jacqueline Graves will be our new secondary science teacher. Jacqueline is a very experienced science teacher from Australia who moved to Sohar at the beginning of this year and we are excited to have someone so able close at hand to help us manage the transition.

I will be sharing more information in the next months…

Best wishes

Neil
