We are having a lot of fun with our new Unit of Inquiry, How We Express Ourselves. We have compared reading books and acting in drama and come up with some interesting comparisons and contrast.
We then looked at different examples of Drama and reading books out loud. From there, we came up with the important elements of Drama.
We thought, if the story is the most important part of Drama, what makes a good story? We talked about stories we knew and noticed they all had something in common:
We tested this idea by looking at stories. We organized our stories using a Story Man. It helped us notice that our idea was right! Also, we noticed that our Story Man needs legs to move. Just like many stories need problem solving action to keep the story moving!
Now it is time to create our own dramatic stories. We are now learning how to use a Creative Process to express our ideas, feelings and the message we want our audience to receive.
Right now, we are exploring…looking for inspiration and ideas! It can be a bit crazy but we have some skills that we are practicing to help us. We came up with this list ourselves using the PYP Transdisciplinary Skills.
Look at us explore! We will be sharing our ideas and messages with you soon!
