The grade seven class has been discussing the difference between THE truth and A truth in Nothing But The Truth. Avi’s documentary novel presents various ‘artifacts’ that allow the reader to see multiple perspectives on the events caused by Philip Malloy’s immaturity and pride. The situation becomes particularly messy when a politician get the media involved. Several texts within the text allow the reader to see how language is manipulated to present a certain slant on an event and sway the audience.
