“During my time at ABIS, I have always been inspired by everyone around me and what they did best, it was inspiring to see everyone flourish in different areas and be applauded for their accomplishments. Being in such an environment has inspired me to become my best self as the positive atmosphere was always encouraged for every achievement, small and big.”

Since when have you been studying at ABIS?

Since 2011, Grade 3.

What is your most memorable moment and why?

It is hard to pick one memorable moment as I have had the pleasure of growing up with my peers over the years and have created so many memories that I will hold onto, whether those memories were of lessons learned or just having a laugh together.

What / Who has been most inspirational to you at ABIS and why?

During my time at ABIS, I have always been inspired by everyone around me and what they did best, it was inspiring to see everyone flourish in different areas and be applauded for their accomplishments. Being in such an environment has inspired me to become my best self as the positive atmosphere was always encouraged for every achievement, small and big.

What will you miss about ABIS when you leave?

I will miss the unique routine at ABIS. Looking back now, I recognise the benefits and advantages of having a small number of students and how that allowed for a lot of wiggle room for many occasions.

What message would you like to leave behind for your juniors?

To enjoy it while it lasts and try to make it a memorable experience for yourself. Whenever someone would say those words to me about high school, I was quick to argue that there was nothing to enjoy in the hardships and stress that school brought about, but now that I look back, there was a type of thrill that came with getting through high school that I hope to experience once more in university and even in my future career.

What are your dreams for the future?

I hope to have a positive effect on people, whether by helping others or giving more.

If you could come back in 10 years, what would you like to see not changed about ABIS and why?

I hope to see that students are still being encouraged to pursue what inspires them the most, even if it strays from ‘traditions’ or ‘expectations’.

Whom would you like to thank for making your IB journey successful and why?

I would like to thank all my teachers for their continuous support. They have been able to keep a positive environment which really helped when things got stressful especially as deadlines were approaching. All my teachers were very understanding of what my classmates and I were going through and were able to help us get through it without impacting our learning or even our personal lives. I have found that my teachers attitudes and passion for the subjects they were teaching to be inspiring and this has motivated me to perform better and be more engaged in class.
