Grade 6 Exhibition 2020
April 8, 2020, ABIS Broadcaster
This year, we have gone virtual with our Grade 6 PYP Exhibition.
Welcome to Grade 6 Exhibition
Welcome to this year’s Grade 6 Exhibition. We have had to go digital because of Covid-19 but nevertheless, we hope you enjoy the hard work and effort that the Grade 6 students have put into their Exhibition presentations.
Every student had the opportunity to decide on a local and global issue that they wanted to pursue further. After some voting, the students were put into 7 groups based on their interests. They then worked collaboratively to write their own central ideas and lines of inquiry. They conducted independent and group research, before thinking creatively about how they would present their findings.
We are all disappointed that the students have not been able to present in the ways that they had planned and I am proud of the way that they have reorganised themselves, changed their ideas and communicated with myself, their group and their mentors to make the presentations that you will see here. We have all had to learn some new IT skills very quickly so I hope that all the links open and you are able to view all their hard work.
Well done Grade 6, it’s been a challenging time but you made it, be proud, I am!!!!

Art Team, Mentors & Learning Mentors
The Arts Team
Thank you to the amazing Arts Team at ABIS for working with the students on the dance, drama, music and art elements for Exhibition. Unfortunately we will not get to see the live performance, but with a little foresight, Ms Markin, Mr McBirnie, Ms Ana and Ms Rehil were able to put together the work that had been already been completed, into these videos. Special mention to Emma Wray for her beautiful solo (learnt, practised and performed at home!)
The Exhibition Mentors
met with their groups twice a week throughout the 6 weeks at school and continued to meet their students online over the last 3 weeks. Their input has been invaluable in keeping the students on track, questioning their findings and answering questions. Thank you so much for your continued support and encouragement.
Learning Mentors
Thank you to the Learning Mentors, Ms Lauma, Ms Sahar, Mr Eriks, Ms Ahlam and Ms Salima, who assisted students with language issues as well as being an extra pair of eyes and ears on their student’s work.
