In Math we have started with measurement. In this Unit we explore the use of non-standard units for measuring volume and capacity. We use bottles, cups, spoons and cubes to measure the volumes of objects.
Today the students had to make a container from paper to hold chickpeas. They had to guess who’s shape will hold the most chickpeas. They measured their capacity with cups full of chickpeas and established which shape had the largest capacity.
Our second activity we used dye mixing to find out different capacities.
For our last activity we mixed a drink for ourselves. We measured the drink powder and water.
