Dear parents,
It’s been a very busy and physical week for many of our students. As many of you will know, we’ve added a few exercise bikes to the SLS as well as two table tennis tables just outside to help encourage the students to be more active. It’s too easy to do little here in the land of lovely food, sunshine and beaches and we need to find ways to keep students moving. One way is to take them to a Swim Meet, which Mr Carberry did on Monday. Despite this being our first ever sporting competition against other schools, the students did extremely well winning a number of races and standing on the rostrum for many others. The two other schools that we competed with had many more students, who were generally older and bigger, so it was a real show of effort and determination for our students. We are proud of them one and all.
Another major activity was the school play “Seussical”, which I am sure many of you attended. It was wonderful to see our students involved and supporting the event in various ways, with a special acknowledgement going to Christine Nolido for playing Horton. It’s not easy to get up on stage dressed as an elephant and sing!
Only one week to go before the winter break. I am sure that we will all look forward to celebrating the festive period with our families.
