Grade 5 has worked long and hard on developing their understanding of basic algebra. As the quarter winds down we are looking to consolidate their learning. Yesterday was a fantastic step in that consolidation. Students had to build simple algebraic equations using M&Ms, a balance scale and small envelopes. And yes, at the end, a lot of the M&Ms ending up in their mouths!
