Exploring Shapes, Colours and Artistic Styles

This week in Visual Arts, our young artists explored shapes, colours, observation and artistic styles through a variety of creative activities!

🔺 KG1 – Triangle Adventures
Our little artists practised drawing triangles and used them to create beautiful mountain landscapes.

🤖 KG2 – Shape Robots
Students practised identifying and drawing different shapes, using their creativity to design their very own robots.

🧍 Grade 1 – Shapes in Art
Students explored shapes as one of the elements of art and used different shapes to draw themselves.

🌻 Grade 3 – Exploring Van Gogh’s Style
Students began practising Vincent van Gogh’s artistic style using crayons and pencils, experimenting with expressive lines and marks.

🎨 Grade 4 – Discovering Tints, Shades and Tones
Students were introduced to tints, shades and tones. They experimented with paint to create different tints by mixing white with the same colour.

✏️ Grade 5 – Observational Drawing
Students developed their observation skills by carefully studying a still-life arrangement and drawing what they saw using graphite pencils.

🌿 Grade 6 – Exploring Jacob Lawrence’s Migration Series
Students continued practising Jacob Lawrence’s artistic style by creating two sketches inspired by his Migration Series, focusing on people, movement and plants.

✨ Keep creating, exploring and expressing yourselves through art!
