We wish to advise our community that Omar Al Balushi has concluded his service as a member of the ABIS Board.
Omar served on the Board from 2023 to 2026, representing Sohar Aluminium. During this time, his commitment to the school was exemplary. His thoughtful advice, experience and considered perspective were greatly valued, particularly during important external evaluations, recruitment processes and discussions concerning the school’s continued development.
On behalf of the ABIS community, I would like to thank Omar sincerely for the time, commitment and support he gave to the school during his Board tenure. We wish him every success for the future.
We are pleased to welcome Philip Roos as a new member of the ABIS Board, representing Sohar Aluminium.
Philip is the Chief Financial Officer of Sohar Aluminium and a Chartered Accountant with more than 20 years of leadership experience in the mining and resources industry. Having held executive and board positions in the aluminium sector across Africa and the Middle East, he brings extensive expertise in finance, governance, risk management and strategic planning.
Philip is committed to supporting ABIS in delivering high-quality education and long-term value for our community. We look forward to working with him and benefiting from the experience and perspective he brings to the Board.
