Unit of Inquiry & Core Subjects

Who We Are Unit: Exploring the human body, body systems, and healthy choices; kicked off with a See–Think–Wonder Gallery Walk to gauge prior knowledge and build inquiry skills.

Literacy: Learning non-fiction text features and how they help readers find and understand information.
- Writing we did pre-writing assessments for narrative and informational.

Math: Studying place value and number representation using standard form, expanded form, and number form.
Classroom & Community
- Essential Agreements: Commitments to kindness, active listening, sharing, care for belongings, safety, mutual support, and open-minded learning.
- Using our calm down spaces when we feel like our brain is getting flipped.
- Not everyone needs a bandaid – That sometimes some students need more help in the class on some days than the other.
- iPad Policy: Devices stay at school to keep them fully charged and ready for lessons (families will be notified if home use is required).
