Week 38: Celebrating Performances, Creativity, and Community

Dear Primary Families,

We ended the week with our wonderful Grade 3–Grade 6 Summer Concert, and I would like to congratulate all of the students on their performances. It was lovely to see students performing with confidence and enthusiasm, and I always particularly enjoy the finale when all the students come together to sing as one group. It is a fitting way to celebrate the end of another successful school year.

A huge thank you goes to Mr. Mino for all the hard work, time, and creativity that goes into preparing students for these performances. Thank you also to Mr. Camilo for his support throughout the preparation process, as well as to the classroom assistants and teachers who supported students during the many rehearsals taking place over the past few weeks.

Earlier in the week, our Grade 3 Mini Market created a fantastic buzz around the school. The event was great fun and showcased our Grade 3 students as young entrepreneurs. Students did an excellent job marketing their products and engaging with customers as the rest of the school enjoyed the opportunity to purchase everything from cakes and juices to key rings, stickers, and bracelets.

A big thank you goes to Ms. Sarah, Ms. Roshell, and the entire Grade 3 team, as well as to parents for all the support and preparation that helped make the event such a success. The enthusiasm, teamwork, and creativity shown by the students was wonderful to see.

Following on from last week’s Graduation Ceremony, our Grade 6 students also enjoyed a special transition day in the Secondary School on Tuesday. This gave students a first taste of what life in Grade 7 may be like when they join the MYP in August, and it was wonderful to hear how much they enjoyed the experience.

This morning, the students were also invited to attend the Secondary Achievement Assembly, where they were formally welcomed into the Secondary School by the Secondary Team Lead, Mr. Cooper. Congratulations also go to Rand and Rana, who were awarded the Marie Usher Award in recognition of how they exemplified the Learner Profile Attributes throughout the year. We wish all of our Grade 6 students every success as they begin this exciting next stage of their learning journey.

Looking ahead, we are excited to head into our final week of the school year. We are looking forward to finishing the year well, and I know there will be many fun activities and celebrations taking place across the Primary School over the coming days.

Semester 2 reports will be issued on Wednesday next week.

As always, thank you for your continued support throughout the school year.

Wishing you all a happy and relaxing weekend.

Best regards,
Matthew
Primary Team Lead
