This week, students have continued building their confidence and ability within both the swimming and gymnastics units. In swimming, lessons have focused on refining stroke technique and improving overall efficiency in the water. Students have been concentrating on areas such as breathing rhythm, streamlining, and maintaining effective body position while swimming over different distances. Many students are beginning to demonstrate improved endurance and a greater understanding of how technique can positively impact performance.
In gymnastics, students have continued developing their sequences and routines, with an increased focus on control, timing, and smooth transitions between movements. Lessons have encouraged students to combine balances, shapes, and travelling actions in a more fluid and creative way. Students have also been challenged to evaluate and improve their routines by considering presentation, body tension, and accuracy of movement.
Across both units, students have shown positive effort and engagement, with many becoming more willing to step outside of their comfort zones and attempt more challenging skills. It has been particularly encouraging to see students supporting one another, offering feedback, and working collaboratively to improve their performances. As the units continue, students will keep refining their techniques and developing more polished and confident performances.
