Dear Families,

Learning English doesn’t have to feel like homework. Children are often more motivated when they play, move, and have fun while learning. Turning everyday activities into simple games can help your child practice English without stress, while also building confidence and enjoyment.

Here are some easy games to try at home this week:

  1. Memory Match:

    • Make cards with simple words and pictures, like “cat,” “dog,” “apple,” “book.”

    • Lay the cards face down and take turns turning over two at a time. If the word and picture match, your child keeps the pair.

    • This helps children recognize words visually and remember their meanings.

  2. Bingo Words:

    • Write words your child already knows on a bingo card.

    • Call out the words one by one, and let your child cover the matching word with a small sticker or coin.

    • Bingo turns learning into a fun competition and celebrates even small successes.

  3. Sing and Move:

    • Choose short English songs, rhymes, or chants.

    • Encourage your child to clap, dance, or move along with the rhythm while repeating the words.

    • This helps with pronunciation, listening skills, and memory—plus, it’s fun for the whole family!

  4. Word Scavenger Hunt:

    • Hide objects around the house and label them with their English words.

    • Ask your child to find the objects and say the word aloud when they do.

    • This creates excitement and connects English to real-life experiences.

Mini Challenge for the Week:
Pick one game and play it every day for 5–10 minutes. Celebrate every small success with claps, stickers, or a cheerful “Well done!” Positive reinforcement encourages children to keep trying, even if learning feels difficult.

Tips for Families:

  • Join your child in the game your excitement is contagious!

  • Keep the games short and playful. Children learn best in small, enjoyable sessions.

  • Repeat activities often. Repetition helps children remember words without pressure.

Remember, learning English is not just about reading books. It’s about making language fun, interactive, and part of everyday life. Even just a few minutes a day of playful learning can make a big difference over time!

Have a lovely weekend!
