This week, lessons have continued to be adapted in response to many students who are fasting. Activities have been structured so that students can remain engaged while managing their energy levels appropriately. Grade 8 students have been focusing on developing their cricket skills and improving their overall technique. Lessons have included practice of batting control, fielding accuracy, and understanding where to place the ball in order to make effective decisions during play. Students have been working through a series of drills designed to improve their coordination and confidence with the bat and ball, while also thinking about the tactical side of the game. As their understanding has grown, they have begun applying these skills in small game situations where decision making remains an important focus.
Meanwhile, Grade 9 and Grade 10 students have been participating in volleyball. The lessons have focused on building fundamental skills such as serving, setting, passing, and positioning on the court. Students have also been encouraged to communicate with teammates and think about how to organise themselves effectively during rallies. Through a mixture of drills and modified gameplay, students have been able to practise these techniques while also considering the tactical aspects of volleyball. As the week progressed, many students demonstrated improved control and a better understanding of how teamwork and positioning influence success during a rally.
