It has been a busy and productive four-day week here at ABIS.
Parent–Teacher Conferences
Earlier this week, we held our Parent–Teacher Conferences on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thank you to the parents who chose to meet with teachers to discuss your child’s learning and progress. We also recognise that for some families, these meetings were not necessary at this time, particularly as the Semester 1 reports had only just been issued. Please remember that communication does not stop with conferences — our teachers are always available via Seesaw, and meetings can be arranged at any time should questions, comments, or concerns arise.
KG1–Grade 1 Assembly
We rounded off the week in a wonderful way with our KG1–Grade 1 Assembly, where our youngest learners shared their learning and performed with confidence. It was lovely to see students demonstrating the Learner Profile attributes, particularly being risk-takers, as they spoke, sang, and performed in front of an audience. Their enthusiasm and pride were clear to see, and it was a pleasure to celebrate their learning together.
Looking Ahead – IB Evaluation Visit
Next week is a particularly significant one for ABIS, as we welcome the IB Evaluation team on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The team will spend time learning about how we work as a school, observing teaching and learning, and engaging with staff, students, and parents. Their focus will be on how we meet the IB Standards and Practices, and we welcome their professional insights and perspectives as part of our ongoing growth and reflection.
Further Ahead – Oman Week & International Food Evening
Looking beyond next week, we are excited about our upcoming Oman Week, which will conclude with our much-anticipated International Food Evening on Thursday, 5th February. This is always a special community event, and further details will be shared shortly.
