It was lovely to see lots of you at the Winter Concert Wednesday afternoon! It was a nice celebration filled with our talented children and their love of music.
Important Dates:
- Tuesday 16th December- Sports Day! Wear house t-shirts!
- Thursday 18th December- Muscat Permission Slips Due (please let us know if your child is attending)
- 21 December – 8 January- Winter break!
- Sunday 18 January- Money for Muscat Trip Due
This week, we spent a lot of time preparing and rehearsing for the winter concert. Some of our students also experienced their first Arabic exams, which will conclude on Sunday next week. Also, our homeroom AAL students got into the kitchen this week and cooked up a storm! From cookies to chicken schnitzel, we had it all!
We continued our UOI and explored different raw materials, matching them with the product that they would turn into. Did you know that sand gets turned into a screen glass and that oil crude makes a plastic bottle? Students also discussed in a small group how much work was required for each product/raw material and how harmful it is to the environment and people. They looked for patterns within their ratings.
You can find more photos from the week here.
Next week, students will participate in their annual Sports Day on Tuesday, 16 December. Please remind your child to wear their house t-shirts and bring a spare change of clothes as there are some water challenges! We will also continue to delve into the different ways goods are produced and our resposnibility to make informed consumer choices. In maths we will continue to explore area and also time conversions from a 12 hour to 24 hour clock. In literacy we will continue to explore debates and how they are structured.
Best Wishes, Miss Megan & Mr. G
