Dear Parents,

I hope this message finds you well. This week in our reading group, we explored fables with the students. Fables are short stories that usually feature animals as characters and teach an important moral or lesson.

Reading fables is important because it helps children develop critical thinking skills. They learn to infer information from the story, understand characters’ motivations, and identify the underlying message or lesson.

During our sessions, we practiced analyzing characters, discussing their actions and decisions, and identifying the morals of each fable. For example, in one fable we read, the main character learned that honesty is always the best policy. Students discussed why the character made certain choices and what they could learn from them in real life.

Working with fables not only strengthens reading comprehension but also encourages students to think deeply about values and decision-making.

Thank you for supporting your child’s reading journey at home!
