1. This Week in Our Learning:
• We finished up our first higher level only unit. We have been studying film reviews, or perhaps reviewing film reviews would be more accurate since we studied this last year. Unlike last year’s work, this has been more focused on analysis than creation. The class wrote their first paper 1 as a summative task to finish the unit on Wednesday.
2. Looking Ahead:
• From next week, we will start our first higher level only novel. We will be studying the graphic novel, Persepolis. This novel explores the 1979 Iranian revolution from the eyes of a young middle-class girl. As a memoir, it is a form of non-fiction and has been translated from French.
