This week, students put their class Who We Are action plan into action! We’ve just about finished all the parts and are now getting ready to create our display on the wall. The children are so proud of their teamwork and can’t wait to share the finished result with you soon!

Now that our Who We Are unit is wrapping up, we’ve started our new Unit of Inquiry, How the World Works. We kicked things off with an exciting challenge — working in small groups to figure out how to make a ball take at least five seconds to hit the ground! It was wonderful to see the students experimenting, sharing ideas, and thinking like scientists.

Our new unit explores force and motion through the big idea that scientific understanding of force and motion helps us solve problems in the world around us. Please find out more through our unit flyer here (UOI, Maths, & Literacy).

In Literacy, students are working hard on their personal narratives. Most have finished their first drafts and are now revising by adding punctuation, improving their openings, and making sure each paragraph focuses on one main moment. In Maths, students have been exploring patterns and rules in number sequences, as well as how numbers change when multiplying or dividing by 10 and 100.

Looking Ahead: Next week, we’ll explore more about how forces work and the different types of forces we see in everyday life. In Maths, we’ll move on to rounding numbers and decimals, and in Literacy, students will begin to edit and publish their stories after sharing feedback with their classmates.

Best wishes, Miss Megan & Mr. G
