Reunited with my G8 Advisory after a few days away. This week, in my absence, they have been working hard on deciding what Service As Action projects they will deliver. Ms. Melodee and Mr Camilo have done a sterling job of making them really reflect on why they will carry out this service, what the definition of action is and how doing this will help them gain knowledge and grow as individuals.
Today we thought about a worthwhile awareness campaign we could carry out as a whole class. We have decided, but it is a surprise for October! When we discussed this project each student thought about what strengths and skills they could bring to make this a success. Most importantly, they thought about which Learner Profile they could work on.
I was impressed with one of our girls who said she would be happy to deliver a presentation to G5 or 6- she would be really demonstrating what a risk taker she has become because a year ago she would NEVER have volunteered for this! Yet another example of how the IB builds confidence and growth!
