Dear Primary Families,
This week, I’d like to share details about an exciting opportunity for you to visit your child’s classroom and see learning and teaching in action.
Our Open Classroom Sessions will take place over two weeks, from Sunday, 11th May to Thursday, 22nd May. Each class will be open for parent visits during two specific lessons only, according to a schedule that will be shared shortly.
Throughout the year, we keep you informed about your child’s progress through reports, 3-way and student-led conferences, assemblies, learning celebrations, swimming galas, sports days, and regular updates on SeeSaw or by email. We also host coffee mornings and parent workshops. What we’re offering now is something a little different — a chance to observe your child’s classroom while learning is taking place.
Each grade level will provide a schedule that includes:
- One lesson in the homeroom
- One specialist lesson, which could be in Arabic, Islamic Studies, Music, PE, French, Art, or Arabic Appreciation
These two lessons will offer just a snapshot, but we hope they give you valuable insight into our programme in action.
Here is an example of what the schedule might look like:
Sunday, 11th May
8:00–8:40: Coffee in LC3
8:40–9:20: Homeroom Lesson
9:20–10:00: Specialist Class (Music)
During your visit, you’ll be invited to observe the class — and depending on the activity, you might even join in. Don’t worry if you’re unsure about something; your child will be more than happy to guide you!
We hope you’ll enjoy this opportunity and we look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible. Alongside visiting the classroom, please take time to enjoy a coffee and connect with other parents from your child’s class.
