Dear Primary Parents,
KG1-G2 Assembly
It was fabulous to end our week with today’s KG1 – Grade 2 assembly, and it was a delight to see our youngest and younger students do such a wonderful job of sharing their learning. We focus a lot on developing a range of skills, or, as we call them in the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Approaches to Learning. Opportunities to stand in front of an audience and speak and perform with confidence really allow our students to put aspects of their communication skills into practice.
In addition to showing these Approaches to Learning, the students also get to show a number of all-important Learner Profile attributes too. Students get to be risk-takers, communicators, and to show how knowledgeable they are during these assemblies. So, congratulations to all those involved today – students and teachers!
Winter Concert & Musical
While we have enjoyed assemblies these past couple of weeks, we also have two exciting events coming up very soon: the winter concert and our musical. Mr. Peter has been preparing the students during his music classes for the concert, which will be held on Thursday, 7th December. We are all looking forward to this and appreciate just how much time, effort, and work has gone into having the students ready to perform. Similarly, those students involved with the musical, which will be held in the evening of 11th December, have been working tremendously hard to be performance-ready.
We very much hope to have a full house for both the concert and the musical, and these are wonderful opportunities to show our ABIS community spirit. If your child is not performing in the musical, then come along and watch with them in the audience as they support their friends and classmates.
