Dear ABIS Community,
ABIS hosted its first inter-school basketball tournament on Monday and Tuesday night after a long hiatus due to the pandemic. Four schools competed in four categories for the first-place trophies and medals. The middle and high school girls’ basketball teams played their games on Monday night. Both teams faced challenging first games, especially the high school team, who won their elimination match by one point against the Indian School Sohar and went on to win the final against ABQ Sohar. The middle school girls’ team won their first game easily but lost in the final against the Indian School Sohar.
On Tuesday night, the middle and high school boys’ played their games. The middle school team won a challenging first game against Indian School Sohar; in the finals, our middle school boys’ team showed exceptional skill and teamwork to win the final against ABQ Sohar. The high school boys’ team won a very physical first game against ABQ; despite starting well against the Indian School Sohar, the team from ISS effectively used their scoring opportunities, and in the end, the scoreboard ended in favour of the Indian School.
