Dear Families,

Today was the 2nd assembly at ABIS since Covid and we were thrilled to welcome parents from grades 2, 3 and 4 to share in our learning celebration. The students did a wonderful job and were proud and excited to present their learning. Thank you to all parents who came to the Mazoon this morning.

We have 3 weeks left until the end of the school year. It’s hard to believe that the time has gone so quickly.  Teachers are busy conducting assessments in order to prepare the report cards, which will be issued on June 20. The final day of school for students is on Wednesday, June 22 and students will be dismissed at 1pm that day. Please plan to have your child attend school each day until the end of the school year.  Let us know in advance if you must travel early or if your child will be missing any school days in the coming weeks because it will impact end of year projects and assessments.

Please remember that students need healthy food and water to learn their best. Please do not send in fast food, chips, cakes or chocolates for snacks and lunches.  These foods are treats but lunches should include healthy foods like sandwiches, fruit, vegetables, cheese, etc…  Water refill stations are available throughout the school so one refillable water bottle is sufficient for the day.  Thank you for supporting your child’s well being in this way.

Grades 5 & 6 students finished their Arabic, Islamic and Omani Social Studies this week!  For some of them they felt the pressure of the exams, but teachers were supportive and they learned important test-taking strategies along the way.  Congratulations to our students on their successes.

Please remember the following dates:

  • Thursday, June 9: KG1, KG2 and G1 Assembly at 12:30pm in the Mazoon.  Parents welcome!
  • Monday, June 13: Grades 5 & 6 to participate in the Music Concert.  Details have been shared via Ms. Kirsten and Mr. Mike

I look forward to seeing everyone at our Community Dinner tonight.  It’s the first whole school social event for ABIS since my arrival so it’s very exciting! Maeve
