Diego presented his one minute timer to the class.

We matched inventions vocabulary to their meanings.

As part of reading Hugo Cabaret we worked in teams to write a recount about the events in the story. Each person in the group had their own piece of paper. We wrote down the beginning of Hugo Cabret as we remembered it. After five minutes we passed the paper to someone else in our group and they had to read what had been written so far then carry on the recount. We passed the paper around four times. At the end of writing we shared our recounts with the rest of the class. We found out severl things:

1. It’s sometimes hard to read other people’s writing if they are messy or have trouble with spelling.

2. It was easy to carry on the story when soemone else had started it.

3. Not everyone used the same amount of details.

4. Each recount started in a different place.

5. It wasn’t always easy to carry on the sequence of the story.
