We have been learning about energy conservation.  The students collected data from their homes about the amount of electrical appliances there were.  They made graphs displaying this data, then we averaged out the amount of appliances our class had at home.  The number was 84!

We have also been finding out about different sources of energy rather than using fossil fuels.  We made a solar cooker and cooked some s’mores.

We also used magnifying glasses to melt chocolate.  We reflected the sun’s rays onto the chocolate to explore the heat energy from the sun.

In language the students have been writing stories about life in 2050. They are using the knowledge they have learnt about energy consumption in order to predict what the Earth will be like.
