Teachers have been working all week to prepare for the arrival of your children, our students. With organizational meetings, skill workshops, source training and planning sessions, we have been busy.
We closed out with a concert from a songwriter and storyteller, David Lamotte. What a treat! He is worth looking up and listening to online.
His message of hope and community was inspirational. We are all in this new world, this pandemic world, together. Together we are strong. Together we give each other hope. “If we all will pull a little, then just maybe we will pull through.” – David Lamotte, Here for You
David shared a quote from Václav Havel: “Hope is not a prognostication. It is an orientation of the spirit, an orientation of the heart.” Hope is not a response to our environment or to our times. We have hope in spite of these.
Yes, the COVID numbers in Oman are improving and the mass vaccination of age 12 and up are a great sign. With today’s announcement from the Supreme Committee, we have great reason to celebrate a little. Alas, we are not out of it yet and must remain cautious, as we were last year. Our health and your children’s health remain our priority.
It is with hope that I greet the new year… I am filling with hope for meaningful relationships, for strong support networks and for deep learning. It remains ever a privilege to work with your children.
