Hello everyone,
We have had a very busy week developing our own websites to showcase our work in poetry and Ecosystems.
We have all chosen a living thing to inquire deeply into, focussing on the components in its ecosystem and how they are all connected.
We wrote Haiku poetry about our living things and transformed them into “Instagram Haikus” by using images to explain our poems. We then wrote poems from a 1st person point of view, imagining ourselves as the Earth.
In Mathematics we have been exploring data handling. We read the book “If the World were a Village (of 100 People)” to extract data we could then display – focusing this week on accurate drawing of frequency charts, bar graphs and pictograms before we move on next week to pie charts, spreadsheets, Carroll diagrams and Venn diagrams. We gave each other feedback on the aspects of bar graphs that are needed to help the audience understand the data.
