Students returned this week with great energy and engagement. For our exam students (G10 and G12), there was much to reflect on from their mock exam experience and we our pleased to see a renewed focus in these students. The end is in sight.
Graduation planning began this week with Grade 12s. It is too soon to be know if we could meet as a whole community to celebrate, but we are certainly hopeful. Grade 12 student have already started to discuss their alternative plans as we will likely need to adjust for COVID again this year.
The secondary bands are really starting to sound good! After so many months of time at home alone, it is great to see how quickly they have been able to remember how to play together again. With the band playing outside, we all get a chance to enjoy the progress each week.
There is a bit of a buzz coming from the Art studio as well. Visual Arts have started some units on clay and ceramics, so it should be soon that we see what the new kiln can help our kids create.
With one more week until the February/March break, it is a good time to thank all parents for your fantastic support. Getting your children to achieve their personal best requires a team effort of parents and teachers working to support each child. We also appreciate the positive feedback we receive each week from parents. If you have been moved by something your child has said or done this week at school, please reach out and thank a teacher. We love hearing from you.
Please place your order online by February 25th, 2021.
Finally, I want to thank families who have continued to follow good COVID protocols, especially when family members are returning from travel and in quarantine. As teachers who have had to quarantine when a family member returns from abroad, we know how difficult it can be to isolate the whole family, but it is our collective commitment to the health of our whole community that will allow us to continue to be safe as we await the vaccinations to be widespread in Oman. Again, thank you.
