We have survived our first week of blended learning and found ways to adapt to this. At times Grade 3 have shown great care for each other by offering support and encouragement to one another. We are finding ways to work together even though we are separated physically.

After listening to Dr Carol last week, we have started a science experiment to observe the effect of different liquids on egg shell. The effect on egg shell is similar to the effect on our teeth. We have soaked an egg in vinegar, milk and coke and are making note of the changes. Some children have set up experiments at home too, to investigate the effect of fruit juice. We are learning to write up our investigation following the scientific method.

We invited Ms Simpson to fitness on Wednesday and each took a turn at leading a warm up stretch, energetic activity or a cool down stretch. Ms Simpson was able to keep up with all of our exercises and then led us in one of our favourite dances. We gave her a book of our memories of her to take back to New Zealand. As Rawnaq wrote and said, Ms Simpson has been a wonderful leader at our school and we have been fortunate to have her here.

We wrote these similes to describe Ms Simpson.

Here are a few more pictures of our learning activities this week.
