The G10 India trip is going very successfully and we have had some wonderful write ups from Miss Brewer describing how students are fully engaged and making a difference to the lives of others. We looks forward to them sharing a trip reflection on their return. This reflection will take place at a secondary assembly on the last day of school (Thursday 16th) starting at about 11:15 – and all secondary parents are welcome. Part of this process will be to issue special awards to secondary students for progress and achievement. We will also say a sad goodbye to departing students and teachers. Following this there will be a whole school leavers assembly, conducted by Neil Tomalin. This will begin at 12:30.
Ramadan will be called next Monday or Tuesday. Though ABIS will continue as normal, and there will be no difference for expatriates, respectful provisions have been made for our Muslim students with areas allocated for prayer and rest during specialist subjects such as Dance, Swimming, PE and Music. Most fasting students will also have a slightly shorter school day.
Please come to the Community Iftar on Monday 13th of June. Our student council have arranged for staff, students and families to experience Iftar together as a school community. You are all welcome to join us with your families for this special event in the school gymnasium. We ask parents to bring in food and beverages. We would like to have everyone at the event by just before 7pm, as the Student Council have organised a mini information session on Ramadan and Iftar (breaking fast), which officially begins at 7:11pm!
Clothing: Our clothing order has been dispatched from the US. We hope it will clear customs early next week and we will keep you informed on where, when and how you purchase in time for the next academic year.
