This week we had two field trips. Our first one was to the landfill so the students could see how much rubbish is thrown out and where it all goes… It was not the most fun they have had on a field trip and it smelt and there were heaps of flies but it did get them thinking about rubbish and its effect on the environment and animals.
Our next field trip was to Palm Gardens so they could experience how far a km is and how long it would take to walk it. This turned into them walking 2 kms! It was hot and it was a long way for some but everyone made it. They even got to play on the playground after.
Thursday was also a day of excitement. Our buddy class taught us a new game as part of their UOI and we taught them how to make ice cream as part of ours. It was hard work as the ice was freezing and there was a lot of shaking. Luckily we had music to help us.
