We are really proud of the Secondary School students who represented ABIS at TAISM this week in basketball tournaments. It is the first time that students have participated against other schools in this sport and naturally they felt intimidated by the idea and expected a whitewash. But this was not the case! Both the boys and the girls came away from the competition having experienced a range of fortunes with losses, draws and victories, yet they improved with each game regardless of the result. Mr Carberry was delighted with the students’ attitude and looks forward to taking them away again to future events in the near future.
All teachers were in school today taking advantage of the student holiday to work together. We spent the day focused on curriculum planning and development. Primary and Secondary teachers have been investigating ways of making stronger links between their curriculums, as well as finding opportunities for students to work on projects across different subjects. Curriculum planning is known to be one of the most essential areas to address in ensuring student success, so we are rightly spending a lot of time on developing ours. We look forward to sharing these ongoing improvementsĀ and exactly what students are learning with you in the near future
