This week secondary students participated in their Inter House Basketball Competition. After the completion of the round 2 matches it came down to a grand finale between the two undefeated teams – the Desert Foxes and the Leopards. The Leopards started off well with a good basket from Williams and Rining scored shortly after to extend the lead. The foxes fought back quickly with some fast break pressure and David reduced the lead to 2 after a nice driving layup. The game see-sawed back and forth as the Foxes tried hard to limit Rinings scoring opportunities. A couple of mistakes at the other end of the court gave the Leopards a couple of fast break opportunities of their own and Rining was quick to capitalize. A great basket from Teja and then a fantastic long shot from Michael made it a 2 point ball game with only a few minutes left. Desperate defense from both teams limited scoring opportunities to maintain the score line resulting in a 12-10 victory for the Leopards. It was hard to pick an MVP with so many players playing well. Alex and Clarrissa did a fantastic job for the Foxes in defense while Andee, Williams and Isaac did the job for the Leopards.
Well done and well played all players.
