We are excited to invite families to our upcoming Grade 5 Photography Exhibition, which will take place on Wednesday 11th March at 11:50am. This exhibition is the culmination of our current Unit of Inquiry under the theme How We Express Ourselves, where students have been exploring how digital technology can help us communicate ideas about the world.
The exhibition will showcase students’ photographic work, carefully selected and edited to convey particular messages. Alongside their photographs, students will also display an art piece created with the support of Ms Sanaa, as well as musical accompaniment arranged with Mr Mino. We warmly welcome family members and friends to come and see the students’ hard work and creativity on display, and it would be wonderful to see as many of you there as possible.
This week, students have been continuing to build towards the exhibition. They have been selecting photographs that highlight a message they want their audience to take away and using digital editing to help emphasise these ideas even further. In literacy, students have been writing artistic statements to explain the thinking and intention behind their work. In maths, our focus has continued to be fractions, with students developing their understanding and applying their knowledge in different contexts.

Looking ahead, next week we will complete our preparations for the photography exhibition and then take time to reflect on the process and what we have learned throughout this unit. After this, we will begin preparing to embark on our next Unit of Inquiry.
Best wishes,
Mr. G & Miss Megan
