This Week in Our Learning:
This week, our IB Year 1 Visual Arts students participated in a special Art Critique Session with the Grade 11 TOK class. Students presented their artworks and engaged in thoughtful discussions about ideas, meaning, and artistic choices. A critique is not an exam, but a conversation that helps artists reflect on their work and explore different perspectives.
During the session, we used the Praise–Polish method. TOK students provided feedback on sticky notes, offering Praiseby highlighting successful aspects of the artwork and Polish by suggesting one constructive idea for improvement. This created a supportive environment for sharing ideas and encouraging artistic growth.
Student Spotlight:
A big thank you to our IB Year 1 Visual Arts students for confidently presenting their work and to the TOK class for their thoughtful feedback and engagement.
Looking Ahead:
Students will now reflect on the feedback received during the critique as they continue developing and refining their artworks.
