This was a short week, but one packed with learning! We had the opportunity to visit the Grade 6 PYP Exhibition, which, as always, was a wonderful culmination of their learning throughout their years in the PYP. It was a valuable experience for our students to see what they will be working towards as they continue their PYP journey toward their own exhibition next year.
We explored perspective in UOI by doing a blind photo challenge – taking a photo up close and having each other guess what it is. This led to discussions about how we can take photos and give different perspectives to our audience. We also looked at the vocabulary related to the unit and did Frayer models – definition, translation, picture, examples and non-examples.
Here is the unit overview for our How We Express Ourselves unit.
Here are some photos from the week.
Looking ahead to next week, we will continue to explore one of our main concepts in this unit, composition, which students are also learning about in music and art. In maths we will continue to delve into fractions. In literacy we will begin to explore artists’ statements.
Wishing you all a wonderful and relaxing extended weekend!
Warm regards, Miss Megan & Mr. G
