Dear Parents,
What a full, joyful, and memorable final week before the holidays!
Grade 8s and Grade 9s watched L’Ascension, a film that tied in beautifully with our unit on travel and hobbies. The story follows a young man from France who decides to climb Mount Everest to prove his worth to the woman he loves. It is a touching and powerful film about personal development, building self-worth, and developing skills when nobody, including yourself, believes in it. The discussions that followed showed real maturity and depth.
Grade 10s were mostly off timetable this week due to Winter Concert rehearsals and Sports Day and therefore missed regular French lessons. We’ll pick things back up properly in January once everyone is back in full learning mode.
Grade 7s were introduced to the world of Astérix, always a favourite, and a great way to combine language, culture, and humour.
On top of all that, Sports Day brought plenty of energy, laughter, and shared moments across year groups. And yes, Grade 7s and Grade 8s also made crêpes… an amazing way to end the term on a sweet note!
Pictures are available here!
A lively final week, full of shared experiences and end-of-term spirit. Wishing you all a very happy holiday break. Rest well, enjoy the time off, and we’ll see everyone refreshed and ready in January.
Warm wishes,
Miss J
