Dear parents,
As we move toward the final week of term, it has been wonderful to see our students across the school engaging so confidently in performance, leadership, and community events.
Our Primary students in Grades 3–6 delivered an outstanding Winter Concert this week. Their performances reflected not only musical skill but also the courage to step onto a stage and share their work with others. The concert was a beautiful expression of the diversity and unity that define ABIS. A sincere thank-you to Mr. Mino and everyone who helped guide the students through the many rehearsals that led to such an impressive event. Over the coming days, students will take time to reflect on their learning and think about how they can continue developing as musicians.
In Secondary, preparations are well underway for the Winter Concert on Monday, 15 December, from 4:00–5:00 pm. It has been a pleasure to visit rehearsals and see the dedication with which our students, together with Mr. Camilo, are approaching their performances. Please note that Secondary ASAs will not run on that day; Primary ASAs will continue as scheduled.
This week we also welcomed our newly appointed Secondary House Captains. They have already begun preparing for their first major responsibility: supporting students in the lead-up to Sports Day. Their enthusiasm and willingness to take initiative are a strong indication of the positive impact they will have on their houses throughout the year.
Next week, we look forward to three consecutive Sports Days across the Primary and Secondary Schools. These annual events bring our whole community together and highlight the cooperation, resilience, and joy that physical activity inspires.
Sports Day Schedule:
-
Monday: KG1–Grade 1 (8:15–11:00 am)
-
Tuesday: Grade 2–Grade 6 (8:15 am–12:20 pm)
-
Wednesday: Grade 7–Grade 12 (8:15 am–1:00 pm)
We warmly encourage families to attend and support the students. My thanks go to the PE team for their organisation and to those parents who are generously organising the fresh fruit for the day.
Thursday marks our final day before the winter holiday. This has been a purposeful and energising first part of the academic year, and I am grateful for the strong partnership between home and school that helps make such progress possible.
I wish all families a restful weekend and an enjoyable lead-up to the winter break.
