Dear ABIS Families,
It’s been a wonderful first week back after the mid-term break, full of positive energy and purposeful learning across both Primary and Secondary. I hope you and your families enjoyed the time away, whether relaxing here in Sohar, exploring Oman, or travelling further afield.
This week saw our Three-Way Conferences take place across the school. These conversations between students, parents, and teachers are central to our approach to learning. They give students the chance to reflect on their progress, celebrate achievements, and set clear goals for the term ahead. It was wonderful to see so many families engaging meaningfully in these discussions—your partnership and encouragement truly strengthen the learning process. If you have any further questions or wish to continue the dialogue, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teachers.
Next week will be an exciting one. Grade 5 students will visit Sohar Port as part of their current inquiries, connecting their classroom learning to real-world experiences. Grade 6 will travel to Barcelo and Mussanah for their overnight camp, a key milestone as they prepare for their PYP Exhibition, and will also take part in a “Brainy Bites” healthy eating workshop. Our Grade 8 students will head to Mussanah for the Sailing Camp with Oman Sail, part of our Oman Week programme. It’s a fantastic opportunity to build resilience and leadership while learning through experience. Across both sections, teachers are preparing a rich array of opportunities designed to challenge, inspire, and engage our learners.
