In our Grade 8 Advisory this week, we continued with our micro-unit on stress and stress management. Today, students explored a range of realistic scenarios and thought carefully about advice they could offer to help someone lower their stress levels. We were genuinely impressed with the maturity and empathy all of the Grade 8 students demonstrated throughout this activity. They came up with some excellent and thoughtful strategies! The scenarios were highly relevant to their daily experiences, and we hope that, through these sessions, students will develop practical tools to support both themselves and their friends. We also reminded them that, even as adults, we are not immune to stress, and that we too must actively work on managing it.
Next week we will be looking at ‘The Circle of Control’ and using the Learner Profile attributes to think about our own actions, reactions, and choices.
