Dear parents,

This week has been a wonderful reminder of the breadth of learning that takes place across our school, from our youngest students to those preparing for life beyond graduation.

Our IB Diploma students visited OQ Sohar for an interdisciplinary science field trip, exploring polymer production and industrial processes alongside OQ engineers. Experiences like this show how classroom concepts connect to real-world challenges. On this note, we warmly invite parents from Primary and Secondary to share their professional experiences with students. Hearing about your work helps students connect their learning to the world beyond school. If you would like to volunteer, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher or team leader.

In the Primary School, Grades 4, 5, and 6 shared their learning in assemblies. Grade 4 focused on the IB Learner Profile, Grade 5 on self-care, and Grade 6 on poetry and migration stories. It was especially powerful to see that Grade 4 alone includes children from 20 different countries, highlighting the diversity that enriches our school community.

Next week, our Grade 10 and 11 students will attend the Edutrac Conference in Muscat, meeting universities, colleges, and industry professionals as they consider future pathways.

Our new science block continues to grow steadily under the hands of our contractors, and we look forward to the many opportunities it will provide for student learning in the near future.

I am pleased to advise that the Parent Committee met for the first time this week and we look forward to a close collaboration during this academic year. This is an important group in that it supports, advises and assists ABIS. If you are interested in joining the Parent Committee, please contact me.

A reminder that next Thursday is a student free day as all our staff will be engaging in a full day of Professional Development.

Enjoy your weekend!
