Dear Parents,
Reading is one of the most powerful ways for children to grow in English. It builds vocabulary, improves spelling, and strengthens imagination. Most importantly, when children see that reading is a family routine, they learn that reading is important and enjoyable.
How to do it:
-
Choose a short book or story in English.
-
Sit together as a family and take turns reading — you read one page, your child reads the next.
-
If a word is difficult, say it slowly and let your child repeat after you.
-
After finishing, ask one simple question such as:
-
“What was your favorite part?”
-
“What do you think might happen next?”
-
Family Tip: Set aside a special reading time each day (for example, after dinner or before bed). Even 10–15 minutes makes a big difference. When reading becomes a daily habit, children grow in confidence and begin to enjoy books naturally.
-
Enjoy the reading time!
