Dear Parents,
Grade 11 mathematicians have had a focused and energetic week of learning. They are beginning to see how different strands of mathematics connect and build toward deeper understanding.

This Week in Our Learning
Students wrapped up their work on the laws of exponents and moved into exploring the straight line and its equation—a fundamental concept that forms the basis for much of higher mathematics.

For our AI HL students, we also completed the important topic of matrix operations, including both the sum and product of matrices.

Student Spotlight
One of the highlights this week was the way students took initiative in problem solving. Their independence and willingness to tackle challenges head-on showed a strong sense of ownership over their learning.

Looking Ahead
Next week, students will continue solving problems involving the straight line and will begin investigating linear modelling, seeing how mathematics describes patterns in the real world. From there, we’ll transition into our next major topic: quadratics—a key area of study for the year.
