It was a wonderful week in the Art Room as students began exciting new journeys in creativity and expression! Hereβs a look at what each grade has been exploring:
π KG1
- Students began learning about shapes.
- Practiced holding the pencil correctly while drawing shapes.
π KG2
- Explored the importance of body parts.
- Created a collage of the human body using old fabric.
π Grade 1
- Discovered the 7 Elements of Art, starting with line.
- Practiced making different types of lines in their artworks.
π Grade 2
- Started discussing the word culture.
- Drew self-portraits highlighting one element from their own culture.
π Grade 3
- Learned about printmaking.
- Designed patterns using handmade stamps with textures.
π Grade 4
- Explored the element of art Value.
- Practiced shading from dark to light to create depth.
π Grade 5
- Introduced to Omani antiques and Still Life.
- Practiced value and shading techniques to create strong still life artworks.
π Grade 6
- Discussed migration and why people move from one country to another.
- Studied Jacob Lawrenceβs Migration Series and began creating sketches inspired by his dynamic Cubism style.
