This Week in Our Classroom:
This week, our Grade 11 students were introduced to the fascinating world of differential equations. We explored how these equations model real-world phenomena such as population growth, cooling rates, and motion. Students practiced solving first-order differential equations using variable separation and began interpreting the meaning of solutions in context.
Student Spotlight:
Well done to Janko for his clear explanation of how a differential equation models exponential decay! His ability to connect math to real-life scenarios really enhanced our class discussion.
Looking Ahead:
Next week, we’ll dive deeper into solution methods and begin exploring slope fields to visualize differential equations graphically. Students will also complete a short task applying differential equations to a real-world context.
