Dear Primary Families,

As we rapidly approach the end of the school year, it has been a real pleasure spending time in classrooms this week and reflecting on the progress made throughout the year. It’s clear across the Primary section that our students have grown, matured, and consistently demonstrated the IB Learner Profile attributes and Approaches to Learning (ATLs). Some wonderful examples from this week include:

  • Risk-takers: Grade 4 students using drama to explore the importance of sustainability

  • Inquirers: Grade 5 students investigating ethical and unethical production of goods

  • Principled / Knowledgeable: Grade 1 students working hard on reading and spelling high-frequency words

  • Communicators: Grade 3 students confidently sharing their knowledge about equivalent fractions

As we near the final weeks of school, I’d like to kindly remind families that our last day of school is Wednesday, 18th June. While we understand that some families may begin their summer break a little early, we hope all students can attend through to the final day so that we can conclude the year together in a meaningful way. Teachers are continuing to plan purposeful learning engagements to wrap up units and final pieces of work.

In addition to classroom learning, we’re also looking forward to some end-of-year fun, including ABIS Spirit Week during the final week of school.

To those celebrating, I wish you a joyful Eid Mubarak! I look forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday, 10th June.

Warm regards,

Matthew
Primary Team Lead
