Dear parents,
As we move into the final weeks of the academic year, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the past few weeks.
In Secondary, our students have demonstrated remarkable focus, resilience, and maturity during this assessment season. Our Grade 12 students have now completed their IB Diploma Programme examinations, the final part of the Grade 12 journey.
Our Grade 10 students have also finished their MYP eAssessments, and we commend them for their perseverance and maturity as they tackled these external IB evaluations. Likewise, our Grade 11 students have now completed their end-of-year exams, an essential step in preparing for their final year of the Diploma Programme.
We also extend our best wishes to our Omani students who will begin their Ministry of Education examinations next week.
In Primary, we concluded our Open Classroom sessions; they were a great success. It was wonderful to see so many parents joining us in the learning environment, actively engaging with their children’s work and building stronger connections between home and school. We will be sending out a short parent survey to gather your feedback and explore how we can continue to improve this initiative in the future.
To build on our community spirit and encourage summer reading, we are excited to announce our Summer Book Fair, running from May 26th to 29th in LC3 (near the music room). Open daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Books start from as little as 1 OMR for paperbacks. Open to the whole community—friends and family are welcome (please collect a visitor badge at the gate)
Finally, we closed the week with a joyful Grade 3–6 assembly, where our students demonstrated the IB Learner Profile in action—particularly as risk-takers—by sharing their learning confidently with peers and staff. It was a lovely way to end the week on a high note.
We look forward to seeing Secondary parents at their Open Classrooms on Wednesday, June 4th, from 8:00–10:00 AM.
Thank you for your continued partnership in making ABIS a vibrant place for learning and growth.
Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable weekend.
Dominic Robeau
